Hearing God’s Voice

unnamed 32

Let me tell you what happened in class the other day because it inspired this conversation that we are about to have right now.

Okay so boom… the boss ladies and I were having a discussion about the spirit of confusion and oppression and I asked a specific student “ When you pray do you wait to hear a response” She said: “Yes, but I don’t get an answer”

Immediately I was taken back to 2022 when I backslid completely away from Yah and resumed some really bad habits (let your mind wonder if it wasn’t crack LOL!

I was truly struggling to hear God and inside my head was like a circus. I was plagued with anxiety and fear. Are you feeling this way? If so I feel you and I get it! The very first thing I did to get right with God and finally hear his loving, wise, and comforting still voice again was pray and repent.

Honey, I am going to keep it real with you. If you can’t hear God every area of your life is going to suffer INCLUDING YOUR BUSINESS! I am not your pastor. I am your sister in Christ so I am going to lead you to the healing water and encourage you to get in with these tips that truly helped me!

First and foremost, please understand that God can speak to you audibly, through a person, a thought, the elements of the Earth, and through scripture but, his voice never contradicts his word. So whatever you think he is saying to you must align with his scripture because Numbers 23:19 says “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

Tip #1- Before making decisions our hearts should be at peace & thinking Godly & kingdom thoughts. Because Philippians 4:8 says “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things”. Colossians 3:15 says “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful”.

Tip #2- Let the Holy Spirit control your actions. Because Proverbs 16:3 “Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established”.

Tip #3- Place your trust in the Lord for all understanding and seek his confirmation before making any decisions. Proverbs 3:5–7 says “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil”

Tip #4- Don’t just soak up the word be doers and not just hearers of the word as James 1:21–27 says!

Tip #5- Pray when you need guidance and are in a bind to avoid being misled by man. Luke 21:36 says “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man”
